Loet Vanderveen
Loet Vanderveen, born in Rotterdam, now living in Big Sur, California, presents the world of bronze with a unique style. Loet's experience spans fashion design, ceramics and architectural commissions. Inspired by the direction of Fong Chow, curator of the Far Eastern Department of the Metropolitan Museum in New York, Loet worked with Chinese glaze techniques, leading on to the application of patinas to lost wax bronze animal sculptures. It is the innate elegance of nature that Loet strives to reproduce in capturing the animal's form and beauty, encapsulated in limited edition bronzes from compact Classic collection around 15 cm to statuesque pieces over one metre tall.
