Lanes opened in 2003 under the joint ownership of James Robertson and Hamish Smith, who met while working for Marco Pierre White, and gained a Remy Award in 2004 for best new restaurant in London. The bright dining area is decorated with regularly changing displays of art, creating an atmosphere which is as suited to business lunches as a meal with friends or colleagues. The comfortable bar area offers a choice of sofas and stools and, in addition to the full drinks list, also serves a bar snack menu with favourites such as tempura courgette and green beans with rocket pesto.
Lanes also features the Board Room, an elegant private dining space that can be booked for events, meetings and private dining. Additionally, the whole venue is a popular location for private parties.
